Here you have to make sure that you choose only those products which have had good reviews, are genuine (no scam involved) and which allow you to earn decent commissions on sale. These products are generally ebooks of some new design or innovative ideas which sell the most. Try and get your hands on these.
2) Study the competition in the market : Competition is not just determined by how many people sell the same product. It depends on many factors like who has an advantage over you in that product/service. If the product sells good in france and you are in USA then a website of france will display better results than yours. Try to optimize your site for international customers rather than a localized section. This will help you a lot in future.
3) If competition is high : Try some tactics like article spinning and mass article submissions to multiple directories. This helps in increasing your traffic by ZX (z being the number of sites multiplied by number of submissions to that site). And increased traffic means you make more sales. One simple rule to avoid any kind of spam is to multi-publish manually instead of using any kind of article submitters. Also try and get yourself a genuine article spinner. Last tip would be to never stop. I have seen many marketers follow these steps : choose a high paying but very competitive product, do mass article submissions for a week or so and then with no results give up. Try not to follow the same path. It will help you.
